The Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League required a inside-the-scenes film that revealed the unseen precision powering autonomous motorsport. Our task was to document the engineering, coordination, and human expertise supporting AI-driven racing, while maintaining cinematic energy and technical clarity. The final deliverable captured preparation, execution, and innovation across track, garage, and control environments.

Pre-Production

Pre-production focused on understanding the race structure, team workflows, and technical milestones of A2RL. We conducted detailed briefings with stakeholders, mapped critical moments across garages, pit lanes, and monitoring rooms, and aligned filming schedules with race timelines. Shot lists and camera plans were designed to balance cinematic motion with factual clarity, ensuring smooth approvals and minimal disruption during live operations.

Production

Production took place across multiple active zones, including Yas Marina Circuit, team garages, pit lanes, and technical control rooms. A lean, experienced crew worked with stabilised cameras, handheld rigs, and dynamic tracking shots to capture speed, precision, and atmosphere. Filming ran across multiple race days, requiring adaptability to fast-changing conditions while maintaining consistent visual quality and narrative continuity.

Post-Production

Post-production involved structuring the story around preparation, execution, and innovation. Editing focused on pacing and clarity, supported by colour correction and cinematic colour grading to unify varied lighting environments. Audio was cleaned and balanced to preserve authenticity without distraction. Multiple review rounds ensured technical accuracy, brand alignment, and smooth final delivery across optimized formats for digital and portfolio use.

Challenges & Solutions

Challenge 1: Filming in high-pressure, live race environments

Stakeholders highlighted the film's balance between cinematic appeal and technical credibility.
